About us?
ALDEA is a Latin American Association for Alternative Development. We are a non-profit organization, which is based in Quito, Ecuador, South America.
We are a group of women and men with a huge commitment in supporting the construction of an inclusive, equitable and sustainable society. Our main objective is to collectively design strategies with people, communities and territories towards development, especially focused on human rights, gender and interculturality.
Mission
ALDEA’s principal mission is to contribute to the development of a sustainable local culture through capacity development processes and the creation of safe spaces to improve the reflection, which allows the populations, communities and local institutions to become a political subject. Thanks to this phenomenon, they can build their own well-being, where solidarity generates cohesion between them. Moreover, the exercise of their rights can improve their living conditions in their territories.
Objectives
